How to Win and Influence Decision Makers

On 8th March Ballyclare High School gave 180 + of their Yr12 pupils an insight into how to compete mentally in the labour market.

The Winning & Influencing programme focused on changing a mind-set in order to compete mentally in the labour market and or exams. Pupils received an insight into one of Dr Stephen Covey’s habits to ‘Begin with the end in mind’. Covey calls this the habit of personal leadership - leading oneself that is, towards what you consider your aims. By developing the habit of concentrating on relevant activities you will build a platform to avoid distractions and become more productive and successful. Pupils also received training on neuro linguistic programming in order to change habits and actions/reactions. Pupil then gained an insight into how to utilise existing networks and social media in order to compile and maintain intelligent research on their possible decision makers and finally how to best engage with the process of achieving what they decided was success.
