Shimna Getting a Head Start on the Labour Market

Pupils in Year 13 at Shimna Integrated College recently received up to date information, education and guidance on the Northern Ireland Labour Market and the future skills/qualification trends both locally and globally. Pupils received advice on how to best prepare themselves to have a global CV and were encouraged to research their subject choices linked to careers more closely. Pupils received training on how to best compete in the labour market and also received good practice guidance on using social media to their advantage in an employability sense. During the event pupils received information on key apps and websites to visit in order to expand their knowledge, gain an insight into specific industries and probably most importantly make links and networks to the world of work.
