Travel and Tourism Level 3
We aim to work closely with schools by providing accredited programmes for students IN school. The students follow policies and uniform protocols in their capacity as members of their respective school communities. Our model of programme delivery includes work placement where the students will have practical hands on experience for portfolio work under the guidance of a suitably qualified and experienced mentor. This complements the curricula offered IN school.

This qualification requires 720 guided learning hours and attracts 280 UCAS points.

Qualifications in travel and tourism cover many aspects to help students succeed in their future careers within the industry, covering things like air fares, travel geography, tour guiding, resort representatives and ski chalet hosts.

The qualifications in travel and tourism are for anyone who want to work within the travel industry and want to develop their skills further.
These qualifications contain units that are relevant to all sectors of the industry, whether the students enter into a career as a travel agent, resort representative or in the broad spectrum of tour operations.

While completing this course, students will cover things like for example:

• Worldwide travel and tourism destinations
• Air fares and ticketing
• Travel representative
• Holiday representative
• Tour guiding
• Tour operator
For this qualification students must choose one of the following mandatory units:


Worldwide travel and tourism destinations
Promotions and sales in travel and tourism

The remaining units to be selected from topics such as;

• Principles of marketing for travel and tourism
• Development of tour operators’ products and services
• Special interest holidays and independent travel
• Arranging business travel
• Travel and tourism destinations; England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland
• Overseas representatives
• Planning and delivering guided tours

Students will learn with an experienced training provider, the methodology being through practical sessions, group discussions or assignments.

For each unit students will be assessed by a combination of externally set assignments and online multiple choice tests.
