Taking a lead from the popular TV show the ‘Dragons’ Den’, the Winning and Influencing programme looks at effective presentation styles and techniques in order to influence and win over the so-called decision maker (Dragon). Best suited towards Key Stage 4 and Post 16 pupils including those at College and or University, this 1 hour programme will investigate current recruitment processes and how, at each stage, influencing can take place to the pupils’ advantage. Pupils will learn innovative techniques that will separate them from their competitors in all situations. They will also be taught how to research the situation prior to engagement and ultimately complete all necessary action points in order to gain the best possible advantage.

Learning and Development Objectives are as follows:

• Investigating who are the ‘Decision Makers’
• Understanding employer expectations
• Developing a general influencing and perception SWOT analysis
• Analysing current recruitment procedures among SME’s and Large Organisations
• Differentiating what sort of team player you are?
• Investigating the top 10 secret tips for interview
• Understanding how to differentiate from your competition
• Finding the motivation to succeed
• Participating in a custom built assessment

The winning and influencing programme was a breath of fresh air for our pupils, not only did it engage them but also educated them in an interactive style. Pupils gained an insight into how to think from an employer’s point of view and also how to go that extra mile – ‘if they want to?’ The presenter took the pupils on an interactive journey away from the traditional interview skills routes to encompass many real world scenarios.
