The aims and objectives of the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work course are to enable individuals designated as the First Aider at work to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency. Following the course, the attendees will be able to manage a casualty who is injured at work, or suffers from a serious illness, until the emergency services arrive. This course is also the minimum acceptable by the HSE for the First Aiders in smaller or low risk workplaces.

This course is subject to ongoing assessment by the Instructor throughout the course. There is no final assessment. The Instructor observes attendees practise sessions as the training progresses to ensure the required level of understanding.

All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE); this certificate is valid for three years. The HSE strongly recommend despite the certification being valid for three years that First Aiders should attend a three hours skills update course annually.

eye4education makes every educational programme a bespoke event based on the special requirements and the abilities of the pupils. We can also pre and post-test all pupils participating in the programme to produce a detailed report outlining changes in behaviour, skills, knowledge and attitude.
