The transition from Primary to Post-Primary school can be quite daunting for pupils but eye4education has been easing that transition for hundreds of pupils around North Belfast on behalf of, and in conjunction with, Mercy College.
In September 2011, Belfast Boys’ Model School contracted eye4education to design and deliver a range of transition programmes that could be offered to their feeder Primary Schools. This series of workshops proved to be a great success, not only to ease the movement into ‘big school’ but also to successfully market what the client school has to offer.
As a result of this success Mercy College asked to meet with eye4education in June 2013 to discuss a similar strategy.
A partnership was agreed and eye4education designed a new range of transitional programmes to be offered to all their feeder Primary Schools.
These included workshops on health & wellbeing, STEM and enterprise which were facilitated during the months of October 2013 – January 2014.
The first signs of a positive impact came last night at Mercy College when there was reported to be a record attendance at their Open Evening.
